Chanukkah gifts for the natural family might feel like an impossible thing to tackle. But there really are great options that will be approved and appreciated. I’ll take you through 15 great organic and natural Chanukah gift options below!
Obviously chanukah is a time for lots of oil and frying. But let’s do it healthier!
A lot of these items are themed around health-ified ways for your favorite healthy family to get in on the frying spirit.
Hanukah Gifts for the Natural/Organic Family
1.Hannah Anderson Organic Cotton “Eight Nights” pajamas 2.Coconut Oil 3.Sugar Scrub 4.Cutting Board 5.spatula set 6.Simple Mills Cake 7.all purpose Oat bread mix 8.Skillet for Frying 9.air filter 10.Organic Chocolate Sampler 11.instant pot 12.Food Processor 13.olive oil 14.Air Fryer/Toaster 15.organic blanket
1. These Chanukah pajamas are organic and free of any flame retardent chemicals (which regular baby pajamas are notorious for, and are also linked to neuro-developmental delays and reproductive issues, especially when exposure occurs at a young age). Needless to say, organic cotton pajamas are a safer option and will be appreciated by a natural family.
This will be especially appreciated since sometimes organic cotton comes with a slightly higher price tag. Here’s more on organic cotton baby clothing.
We even had some doubles of the same color/size because we loved them so much! Hanna Andersson quality just lasts wash after wash without stretching out or fading.
This Chanukah pattern is cute, and the whole family can match if you so please! (Or you can just buy a few pairs for the kids- how cute would they look in photos?!) You can buy the baby ones here— and matching ones for the entire family here!
2. Fancy coconut oil– What else does a natural family fry in except coconut oil?
I make donuts out of spelt flour every year, and I always, always fry them in some organic coconut oil.
CocoGoods coconut products always have an unusually delicious, sweet flavor that surpasses that of most other coconut brands. So, when I saw they carried coconut oil (organic of course) I was definitely going to buy that one! This one is “refined,” which means you don’t taste the coconut in whatever you fry. That works perfectly in place of a typical frying oil such as canola or grape seed (ugh!).
Whatever you do, don’t miss their uniquely delicious coconut water either.
But- if you/your gift recipients don’t mind the coconut flavor in your donuts, fries, etc, your natural fam will love this classy one in a glass bottle!
3. Luxury Bath & Body Products: Some of my favorites are from an amazing all-natural and beautiful line called True Botanicals. You can get a bunch of shampoo and conditioner– which I do recommend highly! or venture into skincare territory, it’s all excellent quality.
The packaging on all their products is sleek and beautiful, and really makes them feel like a luxury.
Cutting boards are also a perfect Chanukah gift since get-togethers on Chanukah can become kitchen-centric!
Wood cutting boards are of course superior to plastic ones, and are also gentle on knives and are less likely to dull the blades. A large, high-quality one is a nice classy gift, and this option is beautifully made.
5. Spatula Set
After all, you’ve got only one chance at the “perfect” latke flip. (You know what I mean if you’ve failed).
When it comes to your favorite organic family, they’ll also be really finicky about what material the spatula is, since it’ll be heated during use, and coming in contact with food. As you know by now, plastic is extremely prone to shedding and transferring, not to mention melting. This means anything with plastic in any part of it is out of the question, as is silicone that doesn’t specify “100% food grade silicone” since plastic can often be used as fillers in silicone products.
I really like the look of these colorful ones made from bamboo.
One of a couple mixes on the list. Simple Mills is the crown prince of paleo baking mixes. Literally anything you try from them, you will love.
(Side note; if you try their cake mix, do yourself a favor and lick the bowl! in my opinion the batter is even more delicious in mouthfeel and texture than the finished product).
In this case a batch of healthy brownies would be just the thing to bring to a Chanukah get-together!
But if you’re gifting the mixes alone, I’d recommend giving a gift basket with a variety of several SM mixes
Cast iron skillets: the workhorse of the kitchen. Frying and pan-searing are simply superior when done in cast-iron.
I find myself gifting skillets a lot- they are a cool yet practical gift, and you can know that the health benefits are top-notch. This is a wonderful replacement for non-stick pans if your favorite natural family is looking for that. Even if not, you can never own too many.
It’s also very difficult to find one thats kosher certified since they typically come pre-seasoned with a non-kosher oil. This brand is actually my favorite with a certification.
8. Air Filter
Even in a home where toxic ingredients and VOC’s are minimized as much as possible, and regular cleaning occurs to minimize dust buildup, and windows are opened to allow for air turnover– even then, an air filter will enhance the air quality tremendously.
Since these can be pricey investments, depending on the model, features, and quality, your present is sure to be relevant and appreciated. Here is a lower-price one, and a more comprehensive higher-price one.
9. Rories mix
Even the baking types like me can appreciate having a mix to pull out every once in a while for a quick meal! So, Rorie saves the day with her wide array of grain-free mixes. Especial favorites are the oat bread mixes.
A challenge for you: I have a strong feeling these would work if fried like donuts, and am planning on trying it myself! A gluten-free oat donut sounds perfect to a health-nut like me.
Dark chocolate is my number one paleo indulgence, and I don’t think I’m alone in that.
This Taza variety pack includes 8 flavors of dark chocolate, all organic and minimally processed (stone-ground). This would be a hit for anyone really, but the colors and flavors plus health profile would hit the spot for the health conscious crowd any day!
11. Instant pot
Another favorite of all cooks, but especially health-conscious ones, the Instant Pot has had its moment for the past few years. It functions as a pressure cooker, meaning that it can get dinner on the table in a fraction of the time it would typically take.
To make that super relevant: think 1 hr bone broth instead of 12-24 hour bone broth!
It’s perfect for a natural family since the insert is stainless steel, rather than ceramic with nonstick coating which may crockpots are.
12. Food processor for latkes
Everyone needs a huge 10-cup food processor, right? if they don’t already have one, then this is the perfect one to grate those latkes so nobody’s hands get nicked this year.
A large food processor is always a necessity in a healthy kitchen for all that homemade pesto, cauliflower crusts, spinach smoothies, and more…
13. Olive oil
Olive oil has an important place on Chanukah being that its so central to the story. Here are some options for nice ones that are classy and unique as a gift, not to mention useful!
14. Air Fryer
You may have heard of this newish kid on block which has gained tons of attention for giving crispy, fried-like results on basically anything you cook in it! This little device has become super popular among foodies, especially health-focused ones.
This is clearly a fantastic gift for that natural fam who has been missing their fried foods!
There are lots of models, but this one is at a great price point and functions as a toaster, too! Snatch it here.
15. Organic Blanket
Did you know that VOCs, or volatile organic compounds, are present in many household products, especially fabric like carpets and blankets?
These organic cotton blankets are simple and elegant. Choose a neutral shade, or go all out to match the family’s decor!
This one looks just right for cozying up in the winter, and this one looks more summery. Both pull the room together and make those couches look even more inviting!
Let me know if you had ideas that I left out here! Either way, I hope this short list was a helpful start.
